the New Jerusalem is to descend upon, where the temple of God is to be built, and to which all the Gentile Saints are to gather. The land from where the republican form of government is to be spread, and the gospel of Christ be preached.

GEORGE S. LINCOLN.

News from the Societies.

Providence, Rhode Island. Our local has again resumed its normal course after adjournment for the institute session of the Massachusetts District Sunday school and Religio societies. The convention was pronounced a capital success, attendance large and interest keen. The program was studiously arranged to provide pleasing entertainment, also to bring out into bold relief the talents and ability of our rising young representatives and workers of more mature age and experience. Much spiritual and intellectual benefit was derived from the same.

At the conclusion of her farewell address, Sr. Mary Lewis, was presented with a memorial of exquisite workmanship by Bro. Edmund M. Brown, as an expression of appreciation for her long and faithful service in the Sunday school and Religio capacities which she has so ably filled. The music was well selected, of excellent quality, and beautifully rendered.

ROSA M. BEARSE.

Saint Louis, Missouri.-The Saint Louis Local is still making every effort to move onward and upward, and while progression is slow at times, we know that benefits will be derived by continued perseverance.

We have found the lessons very interesting and full of instruction, and have enjoyed them very much indeed. Our programs have also been good of late; much of a light and worldly nature being omitted, with a noticeable tendency toward more instructive things.

Some very good thoughts were brought out in a spring program, a few original poems being read; also a May program was enjoyed, a paper and reading much enjoyed being on flowers. A mother's program, the roll call response being some good thought or quotation about mothers, was heartily responded to; and criticisms on our society, kindly made by members of the society and read aloud by one of the members, were also features of interest.

May the blessings of our heavenly Father be with our young people everywhere and protect them from the sins of the world. ELIZABETH PATTERSON.

Correction.

In the news from Providence, Rhode Island, in the May number of AUTUMN LEAVES, a mistake occurred in the third paragraph, the sentence containing the statement, "there are weak places to be found along some of our lives," which should have read, "there are weak places to be found along some of our lines."
