Already the scholars of all denominations are begining to use it and to quote from it, and the impartiality and fair mindedness which characterize its articles, has done much to promote a better feeling, and a closer understanding among students of all creeds. A new light has been thrown upon an institution which, whatever may be said about it, has been for two thousand years the greatest factor in the progress of human knowledge, and it is not too much to say that the impetus which the Catholic Encyclopedia has given to historical and literary research will not only be felt around the world, but, more particularly, will go far to raise the standard of American scholarship.
